Notes of a Native Son
James Baldwin did not have a loving relationship with his father. There was not much communication between the two, and for a long period of time he felt hate towards him. All the negative memories of his father made him feel enraged, but he realized in order to hate someone or a group of people like the “whites” you have to be ignorant. People hate each other because they block out all the positive thoughts and only think about the negative thoughts and actions they have committed. Baldwin wished to have been patient with his father and got to know him better. Although, it was too late to bond with his father, he learned a valuable lesson that will help him keep his heart free from hatred.

I really like the way you described the relationships between Baldwin and his father and the Whites with the Blacks. This was a rough period of time for Baldwin. Having to deal with the sudden death of his father, the day of the birth of his little, and the funeral services on Baldwin's 19th birthday was an impact of feeling and to also have the Whites discriminated you and not be treated right. He did have a rough year.
I agree with your blog because Baldwin always had hatred against his father. He was ignorant in the aspect that he never learned to forgive his father's mistakes and tried to have a nice relationship with him. I also believe that White and Black Americans were both doing a big mistake on doing harm to each other. Their ignorant minds of hate went so far to people's death.
